Digital X-Rays
Dental x-rays are an essential diagnostic and preventive tool because they allow us to view highly detailed images of your teeth, bone, and surrounding soft tissue.
With x-rays, cavities are visible in their earliest stages when they are still easy to treat. But many patients today are understandably concerned about radiation exposure, so we have invested in state-of-the-art digital x-rays that minimize your exposure by as much as 80%.
Digital x-rays use flat electronic sensors instead of bulky x-ray film, and in just a few moments, we can review the images together on a computer monitor so you can see exactly what the problem is and why treatment is necessary.
In addition to being very safe, digital x-rays are stored on our secure network for quick access as needed for reviewing your history. Since we store the images digitally, they can be sent directly to a specialist or your insurance company. And since we don’t use any chemicals to process digital images, they are safer for the environment than film x-rays.
TVs in Treatment Rooms
We understand that many of our patients would rather be almost anywhere else than sitting in a dental chair. But your oral health is important, so we offer you escape by providing televisions in our treatment rooms.
We will get you settled in with a pillow and blanket and offer you noise-canceling headphones that drown out background noises. When you are comfortable, we will help you choose your favorite TV show so you can relax while we provide you with high-quality treatment.
Rotary Endodontics
Like many people, you may feel anxious when you learn that you need root canal treatment. But you will be pleased to know that dental technology like rotary endodontics makes your treatment stress-free and comfortable.

VELScope Cancer Detection
At Hollywood Smile Dental, we are concerned with anything that affects your mouth. For this reason, we have invested in a VELscope, an oral cancer detection technology, for our practice. VELScope lights up the inside of your mouth with a blue light that helps us visualize abnormal oral tissue, such as tissues that are potentially cancerous or pre-cancerous.
With routine screenings, oral cancer isn't hard to detect or diagnose. Sadly, fatalities are high because the disease is often not diagnosed until late in its development. However, with early detection using VELScope, the 5-year survival rate is close to 90%.
